Calm before Christmas

This time of year is quite often a time of rushing around, getting everything organized for Christmas.
By doing so, sometimes the joy and fun that this time of year offers, is lost.
So what can you do to make sure you enjoy your time up to Christmas?
1. You could make a list of all the things you need to do, and slowly work through this by taking one or two things every day.
Although this sounds strange but if you keep rushing around from one day to the next you never enjoy the moment, focusing on what you need to do, taking  one day at the time helps you to get more done and not being overwhelmed by it all.
2. Ask for help if you need it, as hard as this can be to realize, you don’t have to do it all by yourself.
Very often when we ask for help when needed, you might find that people feel honored and touched by being asked.
Sometimes the mind tells you you can’t do that, remember they are only thoughts and thoughts like are like birds in the sky, they fly in and they fly out.
I came across this saying “a problem well stated is a problem half solved” (Charles Franklin Kettering) Be brave, ask for help.
3. Take some time for yourself to enjoy yourself everyday e.g., sit and rest, have a coffee with your friend, or relax with a book, take a nice hot bath before you go to bed, or go for a walk.
Taking regular time for yourself keeps you more focused and relaxed, which means you can enjoy the journey up to Christmas more.
4. Look after yourself, become your own best friend.
These are just a few pointers I wanted to make and I hope you enjoy them.
